Day Twenty - Skye's Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BEST FRIEND, LISA 'SKYE' :D :D :D

Today is her 31st birthday!!!! My how time flys by.
I remember when I first met her back in 1999. Memories. Then when 2003 came along, her mom kicked her out. She was still in high school, but because she was 18, the cops came and literally demanded that she leave the apartment. Her mom's stupid boyfriend didn't like Lisa so he told her to choose, him or Lisa. So without hesitation, her mom says "Goodbye Lisa" and well, that was that. It was a very bad time in her life. She was so heartbroken. I was living in Albuquerque at the time. She was kicked out on the streets and had no place to live. She tried her family. They took her in, unwillingly. She was tossed from one family member to the next, with no one wanting to take responsibility for her. So, I moved back from Albuquerque. I moved into my 3 bedroom trailer. Lisa was on the verge of giving up. The last family member wanted her gone...so I stepped up and I took her in. I brought her over to my place and gave her her own room. I pushed her to finish high school. I bought her all her graduation stuff, including a very nice class ring. I helped push her to get a job. My family helped her with her own vehicle. Of course, my mom hated the whole idea and constantly tried getting me to make her leave my home, which was stupid. I fought my mom and family. I never let Lisa go because when I told her I would always be there for her, I fucking meant it. I've never regretted it once. Not for one single moment since. To this day, she still lives with me. We moved into town in a nice townhouse apartment and she got to have her own room and a very wonderful life. She worked and got lots of experience. I pushed her to do her very best and now she's shooting for her dream of Nursing School. She's going to be starting her second semester of Nursing next month. I'm so proud of her. Now, we're living on my own land. She's got a wonderful life and she's very well respected by her whole family, as am I. She's a part of my family and now her family want her in their lives. Her mom has gone to great lengths to be a part of her life, despite still being with the same guy she kicked Lisa out over. I've taught Lisa to be able to forgive and to follow God in her everyday life. She's done amazing!! So, this is to her 31st birthday. I always describe her as my bratty spoiled rotten kid lol. She's been like a daughter to me all these years. Still my best pal, but that's who she'll always be to me. I'm so happy for her and hope that she has a wonderful birthday!!

Did my 3 miles this morning before we headed out for the day!
Lisa had to work, or rather she volunteered lol. She's been getting so much hours at her McDonalds job. She does great. Such an Awesome worker now they want her there all the time. She'll be quitting next month when Nursing School starts up again. But for the time being, she's doing Awesome!!

Now that she's off work, I'm taking her to watch 'Ghostbusters' for her birthday. She's been wanting to see that since the first preview she saw lol. I hope it's a good one ;)
